Placement, Proper Attire and Fees

Students' level of development, age, ability and progress will be assessed when class placement is determined.  Students who have taken classes at Ozsoy School of Ballet previously do not need to audition.  Placement in all divisions is by the director.  Before students are permitted to begin Pointe class, they must qualify physically and technically, and must have studied ballet a minimum of three years or its equivalent.  They must be at least 10 years of age and must be registered for at least three ballet classes per week at Ozsoy School of Ballet.

Students ages 4 and 5 will be in our Kinder pre-ballet and tap division.  Students ages 6 and 7 will be in our Elementary pre-ballet and tap division.  When a student reaches age 8, they will be ready for our Level I ballet and jazz division.  The number of classes per week grows with the level the student attains.  For example, Level I is required to take one ballet class per week, but may take more, Level II is required to take two ballet classes per week, etc., until Level V/VI in which students take up to six ballet classes per week.

Tuition begins at $55.00 per month for one class per week for pre-ballet up to Level I, with a $25.00 registration fee.  Tuition goes up per month with each additional class per week.  For example, two classes per week is $70.00 per month, three classes is $90.00 per month, etc. depending on the level of the student  Please call the studio at (972) 296-0657 for more information regarding tuition and the placement of your child.

CLASS ATTIRE

Leotard models and colors as follows:  Kinder through Junior II, black short sleeved, scoop-neck leotard, not shiny; also not shiny pink tights and ballet shoes, black tap shoes.  Level III  Bloch tank top leotard in Lavendar; Level IV Mirella Model 207L in Burgundy with matching Mirella S12 skirt; Level V Mirella Model 207L in Garnet or Black with matching Mirella S12 skirt.  Levels III through VI are required to wear pink ballet shoes, preferably split-soled and leather; and pink pointe shoes.  We prefer black tie-up jazz shoes with flesh colored tights.  Any colored leotard may be worn for jazz - but students must wear a leotard.  Jazz shorts may be worn over leotard, but no sweats or baggy pants.  If a student is going into jazz class immediately following ballet class, ballet class attire may be worn in the jazz class with the proper jazz shoe.  Modern class requires a black leotard and black footless tights.  No shoes are required for modern.  All female students are required to wear their hair in a bun.  If hair is too short for a bun, it must be pulled back away from the face in a ponytail or with a headband.  Bangs are not allowed and must be secured back away from the face using bobby pins or hair gel.

Ballet boys are required to wear white crew neck tee shirts, black shorts or tights with white ballet shoes and white crew socks.  Black tie-up tap shoes must be worn for tap class.
